2:0 für Linux®
Are We Already in the Renaissance 2.0 Era?
France is the second country after Denmark to seek to free itself from proprietary software. To this end, France plans to switch from Microsoft® Office® to an Opensource® officesuit first. And hopefully, the next step will be the transition from Windows® to Linux®. In doing so, France is emerging as a driving force in the effort to become independent from Microsoft® and other U.S. software companies.
Germany should follow this example, because in the long run, it will save a great deal in licensing costs—a figure with at least six zeros.
Microsoft®, Windows®, Windows NT®, Windows Server® and Windows VistaTM are either registered trademarks or trademarks of Microsoft Corporation in the United States and/or other countries.
Linux® is the registered trademark of Linus Torvalds in the U.S. and other countries.
